No matter if I used Goffin, Zwerev, Wawrinka or Thiem - I just couldn't put pressure on my opponent by playing a good slice. Unfortunately, the slice was pretty ineffective on a clay court. The games were mostly played in a combination of flat strokes and top spins. There's also LT+B to play an inside out which wasn't used at all in the tournament. To achive that, you can basically choose between six shots: Just like in tennis, it's about putting pressure on your opponent and trying to get him in bad positions. Mistakes are punished much harder than in Virtua Tennis 4.Īfter playing the game for about an hour, it all got really fun. Much like real tennis, the game punishes you whenever you start off in the wrong direction while trying to anticipate the ball. I figured I just shouldn't move around too much before my oppenent hits the ball. The second warm up game went much better though. The game just felt very different to Virtua Tennis and I couldn't even move my player towards the ball. That set lasted for roughly 15 minutes and I lost 0:6.
I played a set to warm up against another guy who, apperently, was amongst the best Top Spin 4 players. My first experience with Tennis World Tour was guite bad. I had not played any tennis video game since Virtua Tennis 4 but I was really looking forward to playing that great sports on a new console. I experienced the current Beta of Tennis World Tour in a 32 player tournament with a prize money of 2.000 EUR (winner takes it all). I applied to take part in an eSport competition in Munich that was held yesterday as a part of the BMW Open 250 tournament and thanks to my past achievements in FIFA, my application was successful.
